New Year, Same #healthyvybe

Now is the time of year when we all start thinking about New Year’s resolutions. We hear “New Year, New Me!” in excess and see hordes of new members at the local gyms in the first weeks of January, but we also know that it’s tough to make our New Year’s resolutions stick.

Here at vybe urgent care, we want to shift the focus away from the ol’ “new me” mentality and think more along the lines of “New Year, same healthy me” for throughout the entire year and each one to come. To help you adopt this mentality, we have five localized and easy-to-follow #healthyvybesuggestions to help kick-start your good habits in 2018:

Flex your #healthyvibes at City Fitness

Flex your #healthyvibes at City Fitness

This resolution suggestion is predictable: Go to the gym! With locations in Fishtown, Graduate Hospital, Northern Liberties, Logan Square and South Philly, City Fitness is easily accessible to a great majority of people residing in the Philadelphia area. City Fitness’ mission is all about breaking your routine and not just focusing on resolutions.

This isn’t just your average gym, either. City Fitness has a variety of group fitness classes and training programs to meet your individual needs and the gym even offers a FitPERX program that gives you discounts at hundreds of businesses around Philadelphia. You’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain, so go on and flex that #healthyvybe at City Fitness.

Practice Pilates at SolidCore

Some of us just can’t get into the flow of a “traditional” workout or gym environment and we need a little something “extra.” Lucky for us, there are options like SolidCore! The workout you get at SolidCore is a 50-minute high intensity and low impact full-body workout. It is at its foundation a pilates class, but redefines pilates into a whole new plane of experience which tests your physical abilities and pushes you forward. Locally, SolidCore has locations in Rittenhouse and Center City. Try your first two classes for $29 and see if SolidCore is a good fit for you in achieving your 2018 wellness goals.

Go plant-based at HipCityVeg

Let’s talk food-related resolutions. If you’ve been on the fence about trying to go vegetarian or vegan or even just considering introducing more plant-based food into your diet, HipCityVeg is the perfect place to start. Craving chicken nuggets or a Philly cheesesteak? Don’t worry, you can have both at HipCityVeg — they taste just like the real thing, but all HipCityVeg products are entirely plant-based! They offer a selection of salads, smoothies, desserts and breakfast options as well and everything is entirely vegan. Ready to give plant-based food a shot in 2018? HipCityVeg has Philadelphia-area locations in Rittenhouse, Midtown Village and University City!

While most popular for its customizable stir-fry, Honeygrow also has a selection of salads, smoothies/juices and a dessert bar. All of Honeygrow’s ingredients are fresh, locally-sourced and organic — oh, and the portion sizes are generous too.
