vybe Guide: 4 Places to Enjoy a Spring Workout in Philly

Flowers are blooming and the weather is warming up. You know what that means — spring has officially sprung!

Now that temps are rising, it’s time to ditch the treadmill and soak up some Vitamin D while you get your cardio in. Looking for the best locations for taking a jog (or a sprint) outdoors in the beautiful city of Philadelphia? We’ve got a few places for you to try.

Running is an excellent way to get your heart pumping and to stay in shape. While you’re getting back into your groove, it can be all too easy to pull a muscle or take a tumble. Don’t worry — no matter where you are in Philly, there’s a vybe urgent care right around the corner!

If you haven’t heard about Philly’s new rail park yet, taking a jog through is a great way to check it out! They’ve converted old, unused rail lines into an elevated park full of trees, paths, and benches (just in case you need a breather). Only a piece of the park is open to the public right now, but the finished product is going to be 3 miles long — perfect for a run!

If things get intense and you feel like you might have pushed a little too hard, vybe’s Center City location isn’t too far. Stop in and let us take a look!

General Pulaski Park

If you’re looking to be rewarded for your workout with a spectacular view, General Pulaski Park is a small, green area along the Delaware River. You can get your cardio in by running to the park and then hit some lunges, squats, or crunches to get your muscles really working. The Richmond Playground is there too, in case you have any little ones who may want to join you on your adventure!

You can relax and enjoy your workout knowing that vybe’s Port Richmond location is right down the road to handle any pains or strains!

Passyunk Avenue

Passyunk Avenue cuts all the way across South Philly, making it the perfect running route for anyone in the neighborhood. The whole stretch is approximately three miles which makes keeping track of your distance easy!

Here’s a little trick: if you start at the southernmost end and work your way back north, you can treat yourself to a cheesesteak on South Street afterward!

If you’re not feeling so great halfway through (or you eat a little too much in celebration), vybe’s South Philly location is there to help!

Franklin Field

Home of the Penn Relays and former home of the Philadelphia Eagles, the Franklin Field track is open for public use — lucky you! Feel free to take a spin around the track, or cool down with some stretches on the field. Whatever you decide, don’t forget to take in some sports history while you’re at it!

Of course, if anything goes awry (or if you find yourself accidentally competing in this year’s Penn Relay), vybe’s University City location is just a few blocks away.

Philadelphia is full of hidden gems, especially once spring arrives. There’s no better time to lace up your sneakers and get your fit on. Don’t forget to stop in to vybe if you think you might need to be seen — you’ll feel better as soon as you walk in!
